“Rising Up to Heaven” Chosen As Regent University’s Global Day Of Worship 11/11/11 Theme Song

LOS ANGELES (November 7, 2011) – David M. Edwards’ song, Rising Up To Heaven, was chosen to be the theme song of Regent University’s Global Day Of Worship, which is taking place this Friday, November 11, 2011. Edwards’ EP, Rising Up To Heaven, featuring this track, will be available at the event and released to on line stores, including at iTunes, Amazon and maranathamusicstore.com. The single hits INSPO radio for a sneak peak on Friday.

“I’m honored to be able to share new music from Rising Up To Heaven with a global audience,” said Edwards, recording artist, creative director of the International Center for Worship and artist-in-residence at Regent University. “It is an exciting day for Regent University to host many talented worship artists gathered together for a common goal – to praise and lift up the name of Jesus Christ.”

The four-track EP is released by Maranatha! Music and produced by Phil Sillas. Rising Up To Heaven will be officially released digitally on November 22, 2011.

The Global Day of Worship is a 24-hour worship event that takes place on Friday November 11, 2011 at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va. Worship artists from across the country and around the globe will gather for worship and the launch of Regent University’s new International Center for Worship. Edwards will perform along with Andrae’ Crouch, Aaron Keyes, Le’Andria Johnson, MANIFEST, Adlan Cruz, Sillas and others.

Edwards released “Here With You” earlier this year through Maranatha! Music and EMI-CMG Distribution. Edwards is the author of Worship 365: The Power of a Worshiping Life and the Worship 365 events. He is a columnist for Rev! Magazine and a popular conference speaker.  In 2010, Edwards was honored with the appointment as Artist-In- Residence, in the School of Divinity at Regent University, in Virginia Beach, Va., where he has taught Worship + Renewal since 2008 and serves as the Director of the Regent University International Center for Worship. Edwards is an official spokesman for the Bible League, which is one of the world’s largest evangelical, non-denominational Scripture placement agencies.

Regent University: 24 Hour Worship Event

Regent University is hosting an extraordinary 24-hour worship event on Friday, Nov. 11, as part of the Global Day of Worship that brings together worshipers of Jesus Christ from various churches, denominations, organizations and geographic locations with a common vision to see Jesus lifted up and celebrated around the world.

The free event begins at 12 a.m. and continues until 11:59 p.m. Friday. Beginning at 7 p.m., Regent’s event will include musical offerings from international and national recording artists and worship leaders, including Grammy-award winner Andraé Crouch, David M. Edwards, Aaron Keyes, Le’ Andria Johnson, the men’s ensemble Manifest, Phil Sillas, Mark Gutierrez, Craig Adams, Adlan Cruz, John Hartley and Katie Gustafson, and Shelley Johnson. Local church worship teams, choirs and songwriters will also be featured at other times throughout the day-long event.

Hosted by Regent, this worship experience is sponsored by Maranatha! Music, LifeWay Worship, Kingsway Music UK, RiverPhlo Entertainment, Music World Gospel, Manifest Music and TKO Marketing.

This event is being held in Regent’s Communication & Performing Arts Center and is the capstone to Regent’s Global Week of Worship—a series of gatherings for the Regent community and friends to lift up the name of Jesus and proclaim that He is central on the Regent campus. Also, a live-worship feed to the international Global Day of Worship will be streamed from 7-8 p.m.
